Starting next year, non-European producers of cement, aluminum, iron, and steel will have to pay a CO₂ tax at the EU’s borders when importing environmentally unfriendly goods.
Due to a decrease in the export of food and live animals, as well as transport equipment and machinery and equipment from Europe to Iran, the volume of trade between Iran and the European Union fell by 17% between January and February 2025, reaching €703 million.
