Trade relations between Iran and the European Union continued to weaken in 2025, with total bilateral trade falling by 18 percent in the first ten months of the year to EUR 3.1 billion.

At a meeting of the Club Junger Unternehmer of the German-Iranian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Ali Majedi and the members of the club engaged in an exchange of experiences, strengthened strategic perspectives, and discussed the readiness of young private sector actors for changing economic conditions.

A flood of Chinese goods entering the German market, especially in the run-up to Black Friday, has sharply eroded retailers’ profit margins.

Bilateral trade between Iran and Germany reached 914 million euros in the first nine months of 2025, showing a 21 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. Germany’s exports recorded a 25 percent decline, while Iran’s exports grew by five percent.
