The total trading volume between Iran and the EU 27 from January to May 2024 amounted to 1.94 billion euros, representing a 4% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to Eurostat, the trade relationship between Iran and the EU-27 showed mixed results in the first five months of 2024. Overall, there was a slight increase in trading volume, but detailed figures reveal differing trends for European and Iranian exports. Although Europe’s exports to Iran have fluctuated a lot compared to the previous year, but Iran’s exports to Europe have not changed much compared to last year.
The total trading volume between Iran and the EU 27 from January to May 2024 amounted to 1.94 billion euros, representing a 4% increase compared to the same period last year, which saw a volume of 1.87 billion euros. European exports during this period reached 1.59 billion euros, marking a 5% increase from the 1.51 billion euros recorded in the same period last year. On the other hand, Iranian exports to the EU 27 stood at 354 million euros, showing a slight decrease of 1% compared to the 357 million euros exported in the same period last year.
31% of the total volume of trade between Iran and the European Union is done with Germany (twice as much as Italy, Iran’s second-best trading partner in the European Union). 27% of Iran’s exports to Europe went to Germany, and 33% of the EU exports to Iran came from Germany.
