

10% Increase in Iran’s Food Exports to the EU in Early 2025

In the first quarter of the Iranian fiscal year 1404 (corresponding to March 20 to June 20, 2025) both Iran’s exports and imports experienced YOY declines of 14% and 12%, respectively.
According to the Iranian Customs Administration, non-oil exports totaled $11.655 billion during this period, representing a 14.4% decrease compared to the same quarter in the previous fiscal year. Imports also fell to $13.029 billion, reflecting an 11.73% decline YOY.
China accounted for 30% of Iran’s total exports, making it the country’s top export destination. It was followed by Iraq (16%), the United Arab Emirates (14%), and Turkey (8%). In terms of imports, the United Arab Emirates was the largest source, supplying 33% of Iran’s total imports. China followed with a 29% share, Turkey with 17%, India with 4%, and Germany with 3.9%.
