In a meeting held at the Shiraz Chamber of Commerce with the delegation from the German-Iranian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the key role of Fars Province in Iran’s industrial landscape was emphasized.
Organized by the German-Iranian Chamber, the delegation, comprising the Chamber’s President, Vice President, and Treasurer, visited the Shiraz Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture alongside the German Ambassador to Iran and the Head of the Embassy’s Economic Department.
The session, hosted by the Shiraz Chamber and attended by its President Mohammad Sadegh Hamidian, Shahin Asghari (President), Abolfazl Roghani Golpayegani (Vice President), and Amirhoshang Fazli (Treasurer) of the German-Iranian Chamber, as well as Markus Potzel, German Ambassador to Iran, and a number of economic stakeholders from Fars Province, focused on expanding direct ties between the private sectors of both countries.
Shahin Asgari, President of the German-Iranian Chamber, highlighted the strategic importance of Fars Province in the future of German-Iranian economic relations:
“Our mission is to facilitate a platform for direct and practical dialogue between business communities in both countries. Industrial and specialized cooperation can continue even under complex conditions.”
The President of the Shiraz Chamber also pointed to the region’s strengths in agriculture, healthcare, medicinal plants, and mining industries, stating:
“We advocate for business relations that remain independent of political fluctuations between the two nations.”
German Ambassador Markus Potzel expressed his appreciation for the progress achieved in Fars Province over the past two decades:
“Shiraz holds significant potential in tourism, pharmaceuticals, and the food industry. We hope that with reduced political tensions, economic cooperation will become increasingly feasible.”
This visit marked another step in the German-Iranian Chamber’s ongoing efforts to build lasting connections between businesses and economic players in both countries.
