
Iran’s Exports to Europe Hit Highest Since Late 2022

Bilateral trade between Iran and Germany totaled €343 million in the first quarter of 2025, with Iranian exports showing a slight increase of 1%.
Citing data from Germany’s Federal Statistical Office, the trade volume between the two countries fell by 16% compared to the same period last year. Germany exported €280 million worth of goods to Iran; a 19% drop, while Iran’s exports reached €63 million, reflecting a 1% year-on-year rise.
In March 2025 alone, trade between the two nations amounted to €99 million, down 20% compared to March 2024. Germany’s exports stood at €72 million with a 30% decrease, while Iranian exports grew by an impressive 31%, reaching €27 million.
Based on SITC classifications, Germany’s main export group to Iran was “Machinery and transport equipment” (SITC Section 7), totaling €110 million with a 28% decline. Iran’s top export group was “Food and live animals” (SITC Section 0), which amounted to €33 million, marking a 1% increase year-on-year.
