June 28 is determined as the day of the 14th presidential election of Iran, authorities say. The registration of candidates will start on May 30.
According to Isna, in a meeting hosted by the acting president, Mohammad Mokhber, attended by high-level authorities, it was decided that according to the initial agreement of the Guardian Council, the election to determine the new president will be held on June 28, 2024.
Registration of candidates will be done from May 30 to June 13, and the campaign period will be from July 12 to 27. The new president will be elected for a 4-year term. Until his election, Mohammad Mokhber, the first vice president will be the acting president, according to Article 131 of the Constitution.
