In the first four months of 2025, the total value of goods traded between Iran and Germany amounted to €430 million, representing a 17% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year.
According to data from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, the total trade volume between Iran and Germany reached €430 million in the first four months of 2025. This represents a 17% decrease compared to the same period in 2024 (€516 million).
Of this total, German exports to Iran amounted to €349 million, showing a year-on-year decline of 19%. Iranian exports to Germany totaled €81 million, reflecting a smaller decrease of 4%.
In April 2025, bilateral trade was recorded at €94 million, down 13% from April 2024. German exports to Iran in this month stood at €75 million (−12%), while exports from Iran to Germany amounted to €18 million (−18%).
From January to April 2025, Germany’s leading export category to Iran was machinery and transport equipment (SITC Section 7), with a total value of €131 million. This reflects a 31% decrease compared to the same period of the previous year. Iran’s main export category to Germany during the same period was food and live animals (SITC Section 0), totaling €45 million and showing a 4% increase year-on-year.
