The second meeting of the Logistics Business Forum of the German-Iranian Chamber of Industry and Commerce brought together active member companies from the transport and logistics sector. The discussions focused on key challenges in the logistics industry, ways to strengthen cooperation among members, and the further development of service offerings. The meeting concluded with a series of decisions aimed at enhancing collaboration and introducing special service arrangements for chamber members.
At the beginning of the session, Kasra Emam-Safari, Deputy Managing Director of the Chamber, presented an update on current programs and activities in the logistics sector. He also addressed the time gap between the first and second forum meetings, attributing it to the exceptional circumstances of recent months. He emphasized the importance of maintaining continuity in the forum, noting that regular exchange between the Chamber and logistics companies plays a crucial role in identifying needs and making better use of existing potential.
Subsequently, Managing Director Faraz Jebeli introduced a draft digital platform designed to connect chamber members with logistics service providers and outlined its objectives and functionalities. The platform aims to facilitate communication among members, improve access to specialized services, and enable more efficient use of logistics companies’ capacities. Participating companies were invited to actively contribute suggestions and feedback to support the further development and implementation of the platform.
In the main part of the meeting, participants discussed the current challenges facing the logistics sector and explored approaches to improving cooperation among member companies. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening synergies, leveraging shared resources, and developing effective structures to enhance service delivery for chamber members. Key proposals included the establishment of a consortium along supply and value chains, the systematic identification and categorization of member companies’ expertise, the organization of specialized events and networking formats, and the creation of platforms to showcase logistics companies’ services and capabilities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, several concrete resolutions were adopted to further develop cooperation in this field. It was decided that a list of logistics companies within the Chamber, including their services and areas of activity, will be published on the Chamber’s website to facilitate access for members. In addition, transport sector member companies will offer their services to other chamber members under special conditions.
Further decisions included strengthening cooperation within the Logistics Business Forum, establishing structured mechanisms for presenting company services, organizing joint events and expert meetings, and ensuring the continued operation of the forum. These measures are intended to enhance professional networking and sustainably improve logistics services for chamber members.
