Exploring Opportunities for Cooperation with Germany in the Home Appliances Industry
The German-Iranian Chamber of Industry and Commerce organized a meeting with executives from the home appliances industry, Chamber members, and representatives of leading companies in the sector, with the aim of strengthening trade and economic relations between Iran and Germany and exploring the opportunities and challenges facing the industry.

The German-Iranian Chamber of Industry and Commerce continued its series of specialized meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation among business representatives by hosting a gathering of Chamber members and executives from companies active in the home appliances industry. The meeting focused on key challenges facing the industry, the needs of active companies, and potential opportunities for cooperation with German and European partners.

At the beginning of the meeting, the importance of the Chamber’s specialized business forums as a platform for establishing direct connections between Iranian and German business representatives was highlighted. The Chamber’s role in identifying the needs and priorities of Iranian companies and facilitating connections with potential German partners was also outlined. Bilateral B2B meetings, matchmaking programs, specialized workshops, the organization of incoming and outgoing business delegations, and participation in industry-specific trade fairs were among the proposed measures to expand business cooperation.

Kasra Emam-Saffari, Deputy CEO of the German-Iranian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, subsequently provided an overview of trade in the home appliances sector and the trend in imports from Germany. Referring to fluctuations in trade between the two countries, he emphasized the considerable potential for further cooperation. He noted that although imports had declined in certain years, trade had shown signs of recovery in subsequent years.

He also highlighted the complementary strengths of the two countries: “Iran has considerable capabilities in assembly and mass production, the supply of metal and plastic components, an extensive after-sales service network, and a competitive labor force. Germany, on the other hand, has significant advantages in product design and engineering, electronic technologies, mold-making and precision tooling, production line automation, and standardization. Leveraging these complementary capabilities can pave the way for expanded industrial and commercial cooperation between the two countries.”

Another part of the meeting focused on the Chamber’s initiatives to introduce the Iranian market and the potential of its home appliances industry to German companies. These activities included developing and implementing a market promotion campaign and distributing industry reports to German companies. The campaign had received positive feedback from German companies and industry associations.

The Chamber’s upcoming plans to attend and visit the international Ambiente trade fair were also discussed. The international IFA trade fair was highlighted as another important opportunity to showcase the capabilities of Iran’s home appliances industry and expand business connections. In this context, one of the participants shared personal experiences from attending trade fairs and raised several challenges related to the procurement and management of exhibition stands.

Participants also discussed the challenges and needs of companies operating in the sector and emphasized the importance of the Chamber’s support for Iranian businesses.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of maintaining continuous engagement between the German-Iranian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and companies active in the home appliances sector was emphasized. Ongoing information exchange, the identification of mutual opportunities, and the follow-up of potential cooperation with German companies were highlighted as effective steps toward strengthening trade and industrial relations between Iran and Germany.
