Iran EU Trade Report 2025<\/b><\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Trade between Iran and the EU-27 totaled \u20ac3.7 billion in 2025, reflecting a noticeable slowdown compared to the previous year. Overall trade declined by 18 percent from \u20ac4.5 billion in 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

According to Eurostat, the trade volume between Iran and the European Union amounted to \u20ac3.7 billion in 2025, down from \u20ac4.5 billion in 2024, representing an 18 percent decrease. European exports to Iran fell by 20 percent year on year to \u20ac2.96 billion, while Iranian exports to the EU declined by 10 percent to \u20ac750 million.<\/p>

Increase in Food Exports from Iran to Europe<\/strong><\/p>

Based on the SITC classification, the largest export Commodity group from the European Union to Iran was Chemicals and Related Products, amounting to \u20ac1.075 billion, a 5 percent decrease compared to the previous year. The second-largest category was Machinery and Transport Equipment, totaling \u20ac806 million, which experienced a significant 37 percent decline year on year. In the previous year, this category had been the EU\u2019s largest export group to Iran, with a volume of \u20ac1.3 billion.<\/p>

On the Iranian side, the largest export Commodity group to the European Union, as in the previous year, was Food and Live Animals, reaching \u20ac330 million, reflecting a 9 percent increase compared to 2024. Manufactured Goods and Chemicals and Related Products followed, with export values of \u20ac162 million and \u20ac126 million, representing declines of 10 percent and 33 percent respectively.<\/p>

32 Percent of Iran\u2013EU Trade Conducted with Germany<\/strong><\/p>

Germany remained Iran\u2019s largest European trading partner, as in previous years, with total bilateral trade amounting to \u20ac1.18 billion. Italy ranked second with \u20ac578 million, followed closely by Netherlands with \u20ac576 million, and France with \u20ac245 million.<\/p>

In terms of exports to Iran in 2025, Germany led with \u20ac936 million, followed by the Netherlands (\u20ac517 million) and Italy (\u20ac447 million). The leading destinations for Iranian exports within the EU were Germany (\u20ac218 million), Italy (\u20ac132 million), and Spain (\u20ac95 million).<\/p>

Trade Statistics for December 2025<\/strong><\/p>

Total trade between Iran and the European Union in December 2025 amounted to \u20ac338 million, reflecting a 14 percent decline compared to the same month of the previous year. Of this total, \u20ac288 million accounted for European exports to Iran, down 13 percent year on year, while Iranian exports to the EU stood at \u20ac50 million, marking a 16 percent decrease.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
