Monthly inflation in September also rose by 0.9 percentage points compared to August, reaching 3.8 percent. Annual inflation for September was recorded at 37.5 percent, marking a 17-month high for this indicator.  <\/p>\n<p>According to an analysis by Donya-e-Eqtesad newspaper, the main reason for these inflationary records appears to be increased political and economic uncertainties in the last month of summer. Based on Donya-e-Eqtesad\u2019s calculations, if no new shock hits the economy and the inflation trend in the second half of the year continues similarly to the first half, the point-to-point inflation rate is expected to reach 48 percent by the end of the Iranian fiscal year.
