Of this amount, German exports to Iran accounted for \u20ac429 million, a decline of 18 percent. Iranian exports to Germany stood at \u20ac99 million, marking a decrease of 2 percent. <\/p><p>In May 2025, however, Iran\u2019s exports to Germany increased compared to the same month of the previous year. Total trade between the two countries in May reached \u20ac98 million, indicating a 13 percent decline compared to May 2024. German exports to Iran totaled \u20ac80 million (down 16 percent), while Iranian exports to Germany amounted to approximately \u20ac18 million, an increase of 6 percent.  <\/p><p>The composition of German exports to Iran is also changing. While in the same period last year the dominant export commodity group was SITC Section 7: Machinery and transport equipment, with a volume of \u20ac222 million, this category has now decreased by 32 percent. Currently, the largest commodity group of German exports to Iran is SITC Section 5: Chemicals and related products, amounting to \u20ac160 million. Iran\u2019s main export to Germany remains SITC Section 0: Food and live animals, with a total value of \u20ac53 million, showing a 6 percent year-on-year increase.
