 s between Iran and the European Union continued to weaken in 2025\, with 
 total bilateral trade falling by 18 percent in the first ten months of th
 e year to EUR 3.1 billion.Between January and October 2025\, EU exports t
 o Iran amounted to approximately EUR 2.43 billion\, representing a year-o
 n-year decline of 21 percent. Over the same period\, Iran’s exports to 
 the European Union reached around EUR 658 million\, down 5 percent compar
 ed to the corresponding period of 2024. The contraction in trade reflects
  persistent structural and external constraints affecting bilateral comme
 rcial exchanges.Monthly data confirm the downward trend. In October 2025\
 , total Iran–EU trade stood at about EUR 283 million\, a decrease of 7 
 percent compared to October 2024. EU exports to Iran accounted for EUR 22
 0 million\, marking an 8 percent decline\, while Iran’s exports to the 
 EU reached EUR 63 million\, 2 percent lower than in the same month last y
 ear.In terms of product composition\, and based on the SITC classificatio
 n\, EU exports to Iran were dominated by chemicals and related products\,
  which recorded an overall decrease of around 5 percent during the period
  under review. Exports of motor vehicles and industrial machinery from th
 e EU to Iran experienced a more pronounced contraction\, falling by 39 pe
 rcent. On the export side\, Iran’s shipments to the EU were led by food
  and live animals\, which maintained their top position and increased by 
 approximately 18 percent. In contrast\, Iran’s exports of chemicals and
  related products to the EU declined by about 29 percent.From a country p
 erspective\, Germany remained Iran’s largest trading partner within the
  European Union. It was followed by the Netherlands\, Italy\, France\, an
 d Belgium in terms of EU exports to Iran. Regarding Iran’s exports to t
 he EU\, Germany also ranked first\, followed by Italy\, Spain\, Bulgaria\
 , and the Netherlands as the main destinations for Iranian goods.Data sou
